touch launches “Al Tawasol” Line for Syrians in Lebanon

Beirut—May 7, 2015: touch, the leading telecommunications and mobile data operator in Lebanon, managed by Zain Group, the pioneering mobile and data services operator in the Middle East and Africa, launched Al Tawasol line for Syrians in Lebanon to shorten the distances between them and their loved ones back home.

For $11 valid for a period of 30 days, the prepaid Al Tawasol line offers an exceptional bundle of 40 minutes and 30 SMS to Syria, in addition to local minutes and SMS and 100 MB of mobile data.

Commenting on Al Tawasol’s launch, Telecommunications Minister Botrous Harb said, “This line facilitates communication between Syrian refugees and their families in Syria as well as their eventual return to their country when circumstances permit it. Al Tawasol safeguards Lebanon’s spatial sovereignty and the Ministry of Telecommunication’s income from telecommunications operations done from Lebanon with the outside.”
