Beirut, July 26 2012: Under the auspices of the Minister of Telecommunications Nicholas Sehnaoui, Touch, the leading mobile telecommunications operator and Zain affiliate in Lebanon, held its annual media Iftar at the Phoenicia Hotel.
Apart from the presence of Minister Nicolas Sehnaoui, a number of officials and directors from the Ministry attended the event along with Touch’s General Manager, Mr. Claude Bassil, members of the company’s upper management as well as highly esteemed media figures lead by the President of Editors’ Syndicate, Mr. Elias Aoun.
During his welcoming speech, Mr. Claude Bassil introduced the public to Touch’s upcoming plans during the following months by saying, “Touch is currently working closely with the Ministry of Telecommunications and is focusing on improving the quality of the calls which should actualize by the end of August at the latest”. He also continued by explaining, “We are also launching several new programs in the pursuit of providing a better quality of calls for our customers who will gradually realize the difference in their calls.”
Bassil continued by saying that Touch takes customer service very seriously and added, “We are taking major steps in that direction whereby we will be increasing the number of employees in the contact center in the coming 2 months from 70 to 120 in order to add capacity and man power to ensure a better service for our customers. Given that the number of subscribers to our 3G service has been continuously increasing, we aimed at adding new communication channels with our customers such as Twitter and Facebook.
Within the same context, Bassil also revealed the launching of a new mobile application called “touch self-care mobile application” that allows the customer to manipulate and change his call settings from his personal mobile such as adding or removing a service or checking his current balance. This has been initially launched on the IOS system that is applicable to the iphone and ipad hardware.
On the other hand, Minister Sehnaoui highlighted his own experience with Touch’s new programs by explaining, “Around 5000 downloads have been recorded for this application till date. This is definitely a positive sign showcasing the customers’ level of interaction who found this application to be very useful and handy allowing them to change their personal call settings. Sehanoui continued by talking about the local application Platform that has been initiated and was stipulated in the initial contract with the company. He said, “80% of this platform will be developed locally. The program has been developed to support local talent and to open the doors for fresh university graduates and engineers to showcase their own expertise in software and application development and then market them through this platform.”
Sehnaoui concluded, “The Ministry is working intensely with Touch whereby they are in light of all their latest developments and applications. We promise everyone that the month of August will carry many surprises namely the improvement in the overall network. We also have high expectations from Touch especially after their rebranding and the wonderful media campaign that they launched introducing everyone to their new and upcoming activities.
