touch clarifies to its customers the reasons behind the slow data service

Beirut, October 14, 2016: In an official statement, touch clarifies that several outages on Ogero’s Internet cables are affecting the speed and quality of the supplied internet connectivity. The company emphasizes that relevant teams from Ogero are working on repairing these issues with the least possible delay.

The disruptions in the internet connectivity, that are unfortunately taking place successively these days, as announced by Ogero, are due to:

•Malfunctions that occurred on the submarine cable Alexandros owned by Cypriot operator CYTA, which connects the international Internet gateway in Cyprus to global Internet gateways in Marseille, France. Customers may experience internet disconnection, service degradation and delays.

•Complete outage of internet connectivity in the North and Akkar, due to Ogero’s fiber cut in Ghazeer.

Touch will keep all its customers informed about the progress in the coming few days.
